New in Cube Base

Cube Base now has the Microsoft Office Fluent
User Interface with:

  • A new ribbon interface
  • Docking windows
  • Tabbed windows

Cube Base also has:

  • Updates to Application Manager
  • Floating toolbars in network editing
  • Multi-window synchronization
  • A new Text Editor

Ribbons

The Ribbon is designed to help you quickly find the commands that you need.  The commands are now organized in logical groups, collected together under tabs.  Each tab is related to a type of activity such as:

Scenario   .   Intersections   .   Analysis...

To reduce clutter and to make it easier to use, some tabs are shown only when needed.  For example, the Intersections tab is only shown when editing a road network.

The ribbons are fully customizable allowing you
to mirror the work that you do.

  • Ability to drag commands on and off of ribbons, quick access bar, etc...
  • Right-Click the Ribbon and choose more commands.

Docking Windows

The ‘side windows’ (such as scenario, data, keys..)
in Cube Base are now fully dockable and collapsible
and have ‘autohide’ functionality.

Tabbed Windows

In previous versions of Cube Base, when a user had multiple windows open—say, a window with a script, a network, a matrix—you moved between these using pull-down menus.  In Cube 6, you now have a Tabbed Window Interface, which makes it much easier and faster to work between multiple activities.

Application Manager

Application Manager now features a new ribbon for making it faster to add programs into your model and to navigate.  Process templates are also easily accessed.  New graphics provides a more modern look and the application remains nicely organized when moving the application between multiple screen resolutions.

Network Editing

Network editing is improved with floating, customizable tool bars.

Multi Window Synchronization

One of the new features added to Cube Base is the ability to ‘synchronize’ multiple windows—whether they contain network maps, GIS maps or matrices.  This makes it easy to compare data between multiple scenarios.

New Text Editor

A brand new text editor for both scripting and data completes the update.  Some of the features include:

  • Full incorporation of ‘tab’ functionality
  • Collapsible comment ‘groups’
  • Smart ‘autocomplete’ for commands and keys
  • Command line hints and tips when scripting
  • A new ‘code assistant’
  • Column mode editing
  • Search and replace with bookmark support
  • Line numbers
  • Use of markers by clicking to the right of line number
  • Zooming functionality
  • Text editor color themes
